100 plus IT remediation issues on the initial backlog with circa 20 highest priority issues identified. None of the issues had been sized or had any detailed assessment carried out to validate the priority or understanding of the critical dependencies. This meant that they were unable to provide timescales and confidence levels to the stakeholders.
What we did
We held initial meetings with key stakeholders to understand the challenges and gain context around each of the high priority issues. We developed a framework to assess and prioritise the issues, holding workshops with SME’s from the business to T Shirt size and score each of the issues WSJF. Issues were scored on business benefit, time criticality and risk reduction aligning to the corporate risk matrix and awarding a priority score. We developed a high level delivery road map based around the priority of the issues and resource availability.
The client had a prioritised list of issues with associated scoring and rationale along with an initial delivery road map that was handed over to the delivery team. Stakeholders were fully aligned and onboard with the change delivery approach.
